01 / The challenge
A local business with a story worth showing.
Lou's Decor needed a professional digital presence that communicated its services and gave prospective customers a feel for the people and work behind the business.
The website also needed to explain two local service areas clearly: Lou in Cambridgeshire and Abby in Bedfordshire. Visitors should be able to explore the work, understand the services and find the right person to contact without having to work it out for themselves.
02 / Our approach
Let the work set the tone.
Silverside shaped the design around the business’s own project photography. Large images, generous spacing and an editorial rhythm give the work room to speak, while bold headings and italic serif accents bring personality to the pages.
A restrained palette of cream, olive and warm gold complements the interiors. We balanced that visual character with straightforward navigation, responsive layouts and prominent routes to the services, projects and local contacts.
03 / The solution
A distinctive website with a clear next step.
The delivered website brings together a photography-led homepage and dedicated Services, Projects, About and Contact pages. Each has a clear purpose, from explaining the business’s offer to helping a visitor discuss a project.
Our development work carries the visual design through desktop, tablet and mobile layouts, with a compact mobile menu, project galleries and a before-and-after comparison that can be controlled with a keyboard.
- An editorial visual identity
- Large-scale typography, italic accents and photography-led sections create a distinctive presence suited to a business that transforms interiors.
- Services explained clearly
- Dedicated content covers painting and decorating, colour inspiration, preparation and spraying, alongside selected domestic electrical work.
- Real projects, in detail
- Project photographs, closer-look galleries and a before-and-after slider let visitors explore the preparation and finished work.
- One business, two local areas
- Separate sections for Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire guide visitors to Lou or Abby, with direct WhatsApp, telephone and email links.
- Enquiries made straightforward
- Contact links appear throughout the site. The Contact page also helps visitors prepare a project enquiry in their own email app.
- Responsive website development
- Layouts adapt the photography, text and navigation for smaller screens, retaining clear routes from exploring a project to making contact.
A closer look
Design details that do a job.
The project comparison makes real work tangible. The local-area section helps visitors choose their next step. Both are genuine sections of the delivered website.

04 / The outcome
A professional foundation, with personality.
The website gives Lou’s Decor a coherent online home: a recognisable visual identity, a clear explanation of its services and a place to show real decorating projects.
For prospective customers, the journey is practical: explore the work, identify the appropriate local contact and start a conversation. For Silverside, the project demonstrates how bespoke design and careful development can serve a small business without making its website complicated.
