01 / The challenge
A reservation is only one part of the journey.
Scilly Parking provides parking near Penzance for customers travelling to the Isles of Scilly. A booking needs to account for when a vehicle arrives and leaves, who is travelling and how passengers are making the onward and return journey.
That makes the task more involved than collecting a date and a name. Parking duration, multiple vehicles, transport arrangements and optional extras need to work together, with a cost summary that reflects the customer’s choices.

Creative design and specialist development, working together.
Brain Aided Design provided the design and creative direction. Silverside’s contribution was the custom booking engine development and functionality, translating business-specific requirements into the reservation workflow.
Bespoke development allows the booking rules to follow the service itself: dates, vehicles, passenger transport and extras contribute to the calculation. These connected requirements can call for more flexibility than a standard reservation plugin provides.
03 / The solution
A booking engine that understands the trip.
The public booking form brings together date and time selection, customer and vehicle details, passenger information and separate outward and return travel choices. Its visible summary updates as relevant options change.
The website presents a Make Payment step and explains that card and PayPal payments are supported, giving customers a clear next step after reviewing their booking details.
- Dates and times that define the stay
- Calendar controls and separate arrival and departure times establish the parking stay and contribute to the cost calculation.
- One trip, multiple vehicles
- The form supports one, two or three vehicles and reveals the relevant registration, make and model fields for each.
- Passengers and onward travel
- Occupant and dog counts sit alongside separate outward and return selections for the Scillonian, Penzance Heliport and Skybus travel arrangements.
- Extras and a changing total
- Fold-up bikes, deflatable paddle boards and travel surcharges appear in the itemised cost summary. The total responds to relevant selections.
- A clear payment step
- Customers can review the displayed cost and terms before the Make Payment step. The public website advertises card and PayPal payment options.
