We use WordPress for content-managed websites and WooCommerce for online shops where those platforms suit the business. Custom functionality can extend what the site does while keeping everyday content and product management familiar.

HTML, CSS and JavaScript support responsive interfaces that work across phones, tablets and larger screens. We pay attention to clear navigation, accessibility and page performance alongside the visual design.

PHP and Laravel are important tools in our bespoke development work. They support applications such as customer portals, assessment systems, booking tools and business management software.

Relational databases, including MySQL, organise the records behind those applications. We plan relationships between data, access permissions, reporting and exports around the information people need to use.

Our DSE Workstation work includes modernising an existing PHP application using Laravel, with organisation and user management, assessment workflows and Google and Microsoft sign-in.

APIs, webhooks and scheduled imports or exports can connect the tools a business already uses. We plan validation, error handling and reporting alongside the connection so staff can understand when something needs attention.

Legacy modernisation starts with understanding the existing behaviour and data. We can improve an established application in stages, preserving useful functionality while making it easier to develop and support.

We provide managed website hosting, VPS/server management and the practical work of maintaining websites and applications. Domain registration, DNS management, business email hosting, mailbox setup and email migrations are also available, with the scope agreed for each customer. Updates, backups, SSL certificates and monitoring are considered in the context of the site and the agreed hosting responsibilities.

Technology choices to assess for your project.

TypeScript, React, Next.js and Node.js applications, Shopify, Adobe Commerce, headless CMS platforms and bespoke solutions can be assessed against the problem and the existing systems. We also consider SQL data design with MySQL or PostgreSQL, and infrastructure choices such as Ubuntu, Nginx, Apache, Docker and deployment workflows. We review their suitability and any specialist input needed before agreeing a project.

Stripe, PayPal, APIs, webhooks, email systems and identity services can support connected workflows where the available interfaces and customer accounts permit. We establish those requirements before committing to an integration.
