PHP 7.4 is outside upstream support. We can help businesses maintaining older applications establish what prevents an upgrade and decide whether targeted compatibility fixes, framework upgrades or staged modernisation are appropriate.

Vendor-maintained PHP security builds can sometimes offer temporary protection while a migration is planned. Their coverage and availability depend on the vendor. They do not restore full upstream support or eliminate every vulnerability, and should not become a substitute for a supported-version plan.

We plan a separate test environment, review critical data and dependencies, and check the workflows people rely on. Database compatibility, scheduled processes, uploads, email and external integrations need attention alongside the public pages.

A release plan includes backup assessment, deployment order, verification and a rollback route. Recovery and testing responsibilities are agreed for the application; we do not assume a universal backup policy.

We can improve an established application in stages, retaining useful workflows while addressing compatibility, security and maintainability. Where replacement is justified, the existing data and business rules guide the transition.
